What is Counselling for You?

COMPASS provides counselling to individuals that are able to pay for their therapy. This will be in addition to our charitable counselling service and will in no way affect our waiting list.

It is simply another way to access our counselling services; we charge £50 per session lasting 1 hour.

Getting Started

Going to see a counsellor for the first time can often feel daunting.  You probably feel hesitant about sharing personal information with a complete stranger. We fully understand this and as such all of our counsellors are trained to listen to you. They do not give advice or pass judgment.

Confidentiality

  • All COMPASS counsellors are guided by the BACP Ethical Framework for Good Practice in Counselling and Psychotherapy.  Copies of the Code are available for you to see if you wish. They all have regular supervision of their work with clients in order to maintain the highest levels of quality service.

  • It is an opportunity to talk about your concerns in a confidential setting with a counsellor who will listen to you carefully and help you explore your situation.

  • It is up to you to choose what to talk about.

  • Counselling can help you get a clear understanding about yourself, your problems and your feelings.

  • Counselling can help you to discover different ways of thinking, feeling and behaving, but cannot change your circumstances for you.

  • COMPASS counsellors will help you make your own choices and decisions, but will not give you advice or tell you what to do.

For more information about counselling visit the BACP website.

Most counselling takes place at COMPASS in Liverpool city centre, but appointments are also available in Sefton.

To make an appointment, please telephone our Counselling Service Manager between 9am and 1pm Monday to Friday on 0151 237 3993 or alternatively you can email enquires@compass-counselling.org.uk.

Cancellations
